CLIMB TO WATCH,

NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC

My role: Graphic Designer and UI

National Geographic made people climb to watch 2019 Oscar-winner Free Solo before the premiere.

First, the website recognized the user's current location and elevation to calibrate the settings, using the phone's GPS and altimeter. Then, people could raise their hands, take the stairs or do whatever they wanted to reach a higher place. The more users climbed, the more minutes of documentary they could watch.

People could raise their hands, take the stairs, or whatever they want.
From the on, the more you went up, the more minutes of documentary were unlocked for you to watch.

The idea for the application interface was to be as simple as possible.
Using the browser's location and elevation features, we were able to know when the user was climbing.
